We fight for cleaner water by identifying policy solutions with allies and advocating our elected officials. There are many actions state and local leaders can prevent pollution, including:
- Protecting and conserving the rivers and streams that supply our drinking water
- Creating dedicated funding so that we can invest in green infrastructure to naturally filter polluted runoff that our outdated water treatment systems can’t handle
- Reducing exposure to lead in public drinking water systems
- Addressing brownfields
- Promoting a health ocean and coastline and prepare for floods from super storms
- Stopping plastics from entering our waterways
