Assemblyman Eric Houghtaling
Assemblyman Houghtaling was first elected to the New Jersey Assembly in 2016. Since then he has represented the 11th Legislative District, which covers portions of Monmouth County.
Assemblyman Houghtaling is a lifelong resident and former Mayor of Neptune Township. He is a career electrician and a proud, 40-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 400. He has also served as a representative to the Monmouth and Ocean Counties Central Labor Council. Through his work with labor, Eric has gained a keen understanding of the issues facing working families, including the need for us to create good-paying jobs, make education more effective, and keep our communities safe.
Assemblyman Houghtaling has been a part of an environmentally friendly agenda, as seen in his support of pollinator bills and legislation protecting open space in New Jersey. He serves on the Telecommunications and Utilities Committee and the Labor Committee, and he is the Chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and Vice-Chair of the Oversight, Reform and Federal Relations Committee. We are proud to endorse him in the 11th district, and we urge you to vote for him on November 5th.
