New Jersey Highlights Battery Storage as Key Part of Clean Energy Policy
New Jersey League of Conservation Voters Executive Director Ed Potosnak has released the following statement in response to today’s New Jersey Assembly Telecommunications and Utilities hearing on battery storage:
“We commend Chairman Wayne DeAngelo for holding a hearing and taking the first step regarding the role battery storage must play in building a clean and reliable energy future. Adequate battery storage is key to New Jersey’s plan to move to 100% clean energy by 2035 and to move past burning oil and gas for electricity, which causes cancer, asthma, and heart disease as well as climate change. Battery storage ensures service reliability and sufficient energy for families and local businesses. We look forward to working with Chairman DeAngelo and our partners in labor on a comprehensive plan that creates family-sustaining union jobs while putting our state at the forefront of clean energy.”
