New Jersey League of Conservation Voters Executive Director Ed Potosnak issued the following statement in response to Governor Murphy’s nominations to the Pinelands Commission:
New Jersey League of Conservation Voters applauds Governor Murphy for two strong environmental nominations to the Pinelands Commission. Dr. Jessica Sanchez and former DEP Commissioner Mark Mauriello will bring enormous experience to bear and increase the diversity of a body that is critical to continued preservation of an internationally significant ecological resource.
We are pleased that the governor has taken an important step to address longstanding vacancies that have hobbled the effectiveness of the Pinelands Commission, and we call on the Senate to quickly hold confirmation hearings for these clearly qualified candidates, who we are confident will become Pinelands champions.
