NEW JERSEY LCV APPLAUDS CONTINUATION OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE REBATE PROGRAM
TRENTON – The following is a statement from Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, regarding the continuation of the Charge Up electric vehicle rebate program.
“We applaud the continuation of the Charge Up electric vehicle rebate program for the third year running. Transportation accounts for 42% of New Jersey’s greenhouse gas emissions, so we consider any investment in clean vehicles an investment in our future,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters. “Programs that include multi-unit dwellings will open the door to the possibility of an electric vehicle for millions of additional people, and in a time of volatile gas prices, rebates for both vehicles and chargers will encourage people to switch to a zero-emission vehicle. However, we know that this program is only the beginning, and we have a long road ahead. We must continue to make bold, significant investments in electric vehicles and a clean air future.”
