Once marketed as a “Magic Mineral” for its very effective insulating and strengthening properties, has emerged to be a public health nightmare after years of industry obfuscating.
Asbestos is a group of fibrous minerals and these microscopic fibers can become trapped in the body, causing potentially deadly diseases over time, specifically respiratory illnesses.
No amount of asbestos exposure is safe, and more asbestos accumulates in the body with every exposure, and there is no way to reverse the cellular damage it causes.
Therefore, to address and minimize this public health nightmare, banning the sale and distribution of asbestos is an essential step toward building healthy and clean communities throughout new jersey and pushing back against the hazardous deregulatory agenda in Washington that threatens the health and safety of our communities.
