New Jersey League of Conservation Voters' Statement on Attorney General's and DEP’s New Environmental Justice Actions

Trenton, NJ -- Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of the New Jersey League of Conservation Voters released the following statement on Attorney General Grewal and DEP Commissioner McCabe’s announcement of the filing of six environmental justice-focused civil enforcement actions across New Jersey that target polluters in lower-income and minority communities.

“We thank Attorney General Grewal and Commissioner McCabe for standing up on behalf of environmental justice communities who don’t deserve to be subjected to the unequal consequences that come from environmental injustices,” said New Jersey LCV Executive Director, Ed Potosnak. “We applaud the initiative that the Attorney General has already taken in fighting back against big polluters who have gotten away with contaminating our state for so long, and we look forward to supporting him and the DEP in the work still to come.”

New Jersey League of Conservation Voters is a non-partisan organization whose mission is to elect environmental champions, hold public officials accountable, and support laws which protect our environment and improve the quality of people’s lives.
