New Jersey League of Conservation Voters Lauds N.J. Wind Port Groundbreaking

New Jersey League of Conservation Voters Executive Director Ed Potosnak issued the following statement in response to today’s groundbreaking of a New Jersey Wind Port:

“Today’s groundbreaking represents a critical step in making New Jersey a leader in the fight against climate change. It is also an essential part of the plan to meet our state’s clean energy goals. It shows that good environmental policy and good economic policy go hand in hand, as we invest in bringing new industries to our state that will revitalize our communities and create well-paying union jobs, said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey LCV. “Under Governor Murphy’s leadership, this new wind port alone will create up to 1,500 jobs to assist in the manufacturing, assemblage and staging of new offshore wind facilities that will power millions of homes. We look forward to working with the governor and legislative leaders in taking the next steps needed to bring this industry online and in maintaining New Jersey’s status as the national leader in offshore wind energy.”
