New Jersey LCV Responds to Deceased Porpoise Off Coast in Ocean County

TRENTON – The following is a statement from Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey LCV, regarding reports of the body of a deceased harbor porpoise washing up in Ocean County today in anticipation of anti-wind groups, funded by the Caesar Rodney Institute and other fossil fuel companies, continuing to perpetuate misinformation as part of a multi-state campaign to stop the growth of clean energy.

"As an environmental organization, we are always concerned when we see marine life in distress. We are grateful to the independent scientists for their work and response," said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey LCV. "We know one of the greatest threats to our oceans and marine ecosystems is climate change. With increased ocean temperatures, fish and higher species are changing migration patterns and ranges, coral reefs around the world are bleaching and dying, and whole ecosystems are threatened with collapse. In order to protect our marine life, we must address climate change.”
