NEW JERSEY LCV PLEASED WITH GOVERNOR’S FIRST STEP ON PINELANDS NOMINATIONS

TRENTON – New Jersey League of Conservation Voters Executive Director Ed Potosnak issued the following statement regarding nominations to the Pinelands Commission:

“We are pleased that Governor Murphy exercised true leadership today by listening to our concerns and agreeing to remove a representative of the petrochemical industry from consideration as a nominee to the Pinelands Commission. This will also allow longstanding Columbia University environmental attorney Ed Lloyd to remain on the commission.

“While this is a good first step, we are concerned that removing science teacher Richard Prickett from the Commission leaves a hole for the environmental community. We continue to stress to the administration the importance of having environmental advocates on the Commission to ensure the continued protection of one of New Jersey’s most precious natural treasures.”
