NEW JERSEY LCV MOURNS THE DEATH OF GOVERNOR JIM FLORIO
TRENTON – The following is a statement from Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, on the death of former New Jersey Governor, Jim Florio.
“New Jersey lost a titan in the environmental movement and a long-time champion with the passing of Governor Jim Florio. As a congressman from South Jersey, Florio authored the nation’s Superfund law to clean up heavily polluted sites that plagued New Jersey, and we can see the results of his work across the state today. Governor Florio never stopped working to conserve our beautiful state for future generations, and we will miss his wise advice and advocacy,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters. “We were proud to work with him on legislative initiatives to demand clean air, safe drinking water, and to protect open space in New Jersey. Our thoughts are with his wife, Lucinda, and his family at this difficult time.”
