New Jersey LCV Hails Historic Agreement on Federal Climate Package, Calls for Fast Action in Congress

As details are emerging, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters Executive Director, Ed Potosnak, issued the following statement in response to news that Senate Democrats have reached a deal with Senator Joe Manchin on landmark federal climate and green energy legislation:

“Today’s agreement represents the biggest investment in clean energy in our nation’s history. This is a historic moment in the fight against global climate change and is essential to meeting our emissions targets.

It is important that every single member of New Jersey’s congressional delegation stand together in support of a package that will turn the existential threat of climate change into an opportunity. We need to quickly curb climate pollution even as we create family-sustaining union jobs, expand economic opportunities across our state, and provide long-term energy security and low energy costs during a time of rising global threats.”
