LEADING POLITICAL ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP SEES SHADES OF GREEN IN GOVERNOR MURPHY’S FY21 BUDGET

TRENTON, NJ- Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, released the following statement today regarding Governor Murphy’s FY21 Budget Announcement:

“Overall, Governor Murphy has presented a budget that builds a stronger and fairer New Jersey, with progress being made to protect our environment,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters. “While we are still learning the details of the FY21 budget, Governor Murphy has demonstrated his commitment to NJ Transit – with over $130 million in direct state support. While we are working to completely end diversions from the clean energy fund, we are pleased to see the Governor’s commitment to our right to clean drinking water, lead service line replacements, and protecting our natural resources by increasing staffing in the DEP for the first time in a decade. We also look forward to working with the administration and legislators to ensure the environment remains a priority in the FY21 budget.”
