Loretta Weinberg
Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg represents the 37th Legislative District and is running for re-election. She was elected to the Senate in 2005 and has served as Majority Leader since 2012. She received a Bachelor of Arts from University of California in History. Senator Weinberg serves as the Vice-Chair of the Legislative Oversight Committee and as a member of several others, including the Joint Budget Oversight and the Joint Committee on Economic Justice and Equal Employment Opportunity Committee.
Senator Weinberg is a consistent environmental champion and was integral in getting open space implementation language passed. She was a sponsor of legislation dealing with cumulative impacts in environmental justice communities.
