Christopher “Kip” Bateman

Senator Christopher “Kip” Bateman (R) represents the 16th Senate district and is running for re-election. He was elected in 2007 after serving in the New Jersey State Assembly from 1994 to 2007. He currently works as an attorney and is a partner at DiFrancesco, Bateman, Coley, Yospin, Kunzman, Davis, Lehrer, and Flaum. He is the ranking member of the Environment and Energy Committee and serves on the Joint Legislative Task Force on Drinking Water Infrastructure. Bateman’s father was also a highly-respected state legislator.

Senator Bateman has earned admiration from both sides of the aisle for his independent nature. He is a leader in championing environmental legislation in the Senate to urge Governor Christie to rejoin the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, protect open space in New Jersey, and innovate renewable energy.
