Elizabeth Maher Muoio

Assemblywoman Elizabeth Maher Muoio represents the 15th legislative district. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University in history; she later received a J.D. from Georgetown University. She currently works as the Director of Economic Development in Mercer County. Prior to be elected to the Assembly in 2015, Muoio was Mercer County Freeholder from 2001 to 2008, and was on the Pennington Borough Council from 1997-2002. She serves on the Budget Committee, Commerce and Economic Development Committee, and on the Judiciary Committee.

Assemblywoman Muoio has sponsored bills to support renewable energy in New Jersey, hazardous material safety, and climate change legislation, including joining the US Climate Alliance. She also has been working to develop better water protection in the Highlands and prevent rollbacks to the DEP’s Flood Hazard Rules.
