Melissa Brown Blaeuer
Melissa Brown Blaeuer is running for election to the New Jersey Assembly in the 26th District, which includes municipalities such as Montville, Parsippany-Troy Hills, and West Caldwell.
Melissa is the democratic Party Co-leader in West Milford, has led the Democratic Club as President, Secretary and Vice President, and has served on the Community Services and Recreation Advisory Committee, the Beautification and Recycling Committee and the Municipal Utilities Authority. She is also the Vice Chair for Ecotourism on the West Milford Economic Commission where she is spearheading sustainable outdoor tourism and related guide, hoteling, and feature development to foster long-term economic prosperity in West Milford. Melissa is currently helping in the fight against the Tennessee Gas Compressor Station proposed to be built in West Milford which she believes is bad for ecotourism, the sensitive environment, and residential property investments. She is active in social and economic justice issues, and has over 35 years of business experience in leadership, creativity, technology, marketing and communications to bring to public service.
Melissa Brown Blaeuer and her running mate Pamela Fadden are running against an incumbent assemblyman who holds one the lowest lifetime voting records in the Assembly — a putrid 34%. This assemblyman has also opposed crucial environmental legislation such as the Plastic Pollution Reduction Act, and he voted against the first-in-the-nation comprehensive environmental justice legislation known as the Cumulative Impacts Bill, which was hailed as a turning point in helping mitigate the disproportionate effects of pollution in low-income, predominantly Black and Brown communities. In addition to voting NO on these two bills, the assemblyman has a history of opposing many other environmental priority bills such as the Clean Energy Act, the Global Warming Response Act, and legislation that would uphold the International Paris Agreement on Climate Change. The assemblyman has often shared dangerous and irresponsible anti-mask rhetoric on his social media account during the pandemic and messaging disparaging the Black Lives Matter movement. This is why we urge you to vote for Pamela Fadden and Melissa Brown Blaeuer, whom we've proudly endorsed for Assembly in the 26th District.
