Lawmakers from the 2nd Legislative District scored above-average grades in a scorecard created by an environmental group.
The New Jersey League of Conservation Voters released an environmental scorecard Monday based on votes for 17 environmental bills in the Senate and 10 bills in the Assembly.
State Sen. Jim Whelan, D-Atlantic, received 77 percent, putting him above the chamber’s average of 68 percent. Assemblymen Vince Mazzeo, D-Atlantic, and Chris Brown, R-Atlantic, each scored 73 percent, which was above that chamber’s average of 64 percent.
The 1st Legislative District lawmakers didn’t do as well. State Sen. Jeff Van Drew, D-Cape May, Cumberland, Atlantic, scored 54 percent. Assemblyman Bob Andrzejczak, D-Cape May, Cumberland, Atlantic, finished with 64 percent. Assemblyman Sam Fiocchi, R-Cape May, Cumberland, Atlantic, received 55 percent.
